Living Through Transformation

Have you lived through a transformative experience? Did you bend and stretch through it and feel like you might break? That is often the case for most of us. Our body and our nervous system will often warn us that change is happening and to do everything to avoid the change. Your nervous system does not know good from bad change…it just knows it is surviving in the current state…the current state is predictable and it knows how to help you navigate it. Change is unpredictable for your nervous system, it can cause you to be on high alert to make sure that you are safe. I have found this in my life. When I feel a huge spike in my anxiety, I can often now stop and feel into a deep transformation going on around me or shifts are happening internally. My nervous system impacts my anxiety and I can also consciously remember that some changes are for the better and I can let my body know that I am here to keep it safe. It is a skill that I have learned in these last 6 years. The changes within me and my outside world have been in constant flux…I have now become aware of the feelings as they arise and I ask myself, am I going through a positive transformation right now? When the answer is yes I use my grounding and energy hygiene techniques to help my body feel safe and supported in that moment. To be honest I have not always been the greatest at this. There have been many times that I wanted to throw a temper tantrum when it felt like the rug had been pulled out from under me with no warning. When this happened I would hold in the temper tantrum and reach out to anyone near me that feels like a safe person. I would look for validation and support with the big feelings that I was feeling because it did not feel safe to lean into the experience without a calm nervous system to co-regulate with. This is a part of healing, finding reliable safe spaces to surrender into when you are feeling overwhelmed with big emotions.
Awareness is a huge part of understanding this cycle. Being able to create safe spaces with trusted people is a way to create safety within your body. As you build the self-trust and resilience within your nervous system, you can become a safe space for yourself. However is it is ok to need outside help as you begin the journey of connecting deeper with yourself.
My goal as an entrepreneur is to be a space holder for your transformation. I hold safe spaces that help you move through your transformations and break through your patterns. I feel completely grounded and able to hold this space for you because I have lived through this process again and again. Not the same story as you but the same physiology in my body, the anxiety about being vulnerable, the fear that it may all be too much to handle if I open the Pandora’s box I have kept inside me of old emotions and judgments. There was always that fear of, what if I am actually a bad person under it all, because often that can get projected on us throughout our life. That is never the case, I can assure you of that. I am also here to signify that you can get through it, you can release and be able to move through life with more freedom and kindness towards yourself.
